Living the Dream...

    As part of the Prime Directive of IFT, the chapters participate in activities that help to achieve the positive future for humanity as conceived of by Gene Roddenberry and reflected in Star Trek. A united planet where poverty, famine, disease, war, racism and pollution have been eliminated. Where the driving force for humanity is exploration and education of self and the universe around us.

    One small step in the long journey to reach that future is to do our part to take care of and maintain our world. After all while we may want to venture to the stars in distant reaches of space, we also want to know we'll always have a planet to come home to.

    The U.S.S. GENE RODDENBERRY - NFC-9109-A is doing her part by recycling. Plastics, Aluminum, Glass are the primary recycled materials. Not only helping the environment but as a small bonus for the chapter, recycling serves as our primary fund raiser. While we do as much as we can there is always room for more.

    If you would like to participate the Roddenberry Recycling Program, simply bring your collected recyclable goods to any of our chapter meetings, or Away Missions. We will gladly accept them and make sure they are properly taken care of. Your participation is truly welcomed and appreciated by both Mother Earth and the Captain and Crew of the U.S.S. GENE RODDENBERRY.

    In addition to recycling and the other projects under development the Captain and Crew of the Roddenberry are always looking for other ways to help out our local communities. If you have any ideas that you would like to share, like beach/park/street clean up, graffiti removal, volunteer work, etc. please let us know.

    You do not need to be a member of the Roddenberry crew if you want to participate in any of the activities to help our local communities. We welcome volunteers the more people invloved the more good we can do.
